Course Description: Basic Web Design with Ulead PhotoImpact
This course is for people new to web design and development who want to use PhotoImpact to build intuitive, attractive and accessible websites. In this course, you will explore the basic elements of PhotoImpact, and define a Web site on your local machine. This course provides you with the knowledge and hands-on practice to build and manage a basic website.
The course will introduce the Design Environment and extensive tools available in PhotoImpact. Delegates will learn best practice for web design and the most efficient techniques for creating websites.
Each week's lesson will include exercises and tutorials to be completed and posted on the VAA bulletin board.
In order to receive a certificate for this course you must complete each week’s assigned project and post them on the VAA bulletin board.
You must have a good working knowledge of your computer and operating system.
This course is designed for the intermediate to advanced user of PhotoImpact. It assumes a working knowledge of the program and familiarity with the Tool locations. If you do not meet this standard, I recommend taking the PIRC Beginners Workshop prior to enrolling in this class.
The web design projects in these workshops have been designed for those using PhotoImpact Versions 8, XL, 8.5 Pro & 10. It can be the trial version, but you will not be able to complete this course during the 30-day trial period.
All course content is contained within the lessons and other on-line resources. No textbook is required. A downloadable PDF version of the PhotoImpact User Manual is available from the Ulead website.
Course Overview
This is a six-week course with a seventh week for wrap-up and review. Each lesson will take from 2 – 4 hours to complete. Webspace will be provided by Visual Arts Academy for the duration of the course.
