Course Description: Digital Fine Art with PhotoImpact


This course is designed to teach you about the different painting media and the digital techniques to achieve them. You will have the opportunity to try different styles in different media for your digital painting. In each medium we will touch different methods like painting folds, reflection, textures etc. Each lesson includes exercises, tutorials, examples and reference material. Beginners and the more experienced amateur will learn how to achieve the appearance of the different medium and styles. The skills you acquire will bring rich dividends. Lesson 1 - Watercolour
Watercolour needs a different approach than the other medium and you will learn how to create a watercolor in your digital painting to get the same effect as a real watercolour.

Lesson 2 - Oil Painting
Oil painting is one of my favorites for digital painting, but it is just my preference. You will learn to apply the oil technique to digital paintings.

Lesson 3 - Acrylics
Acrylics painting is the most versatile medium, both watercolour and oil technique could be applied. You will learn how to combine both techniques in your digital acrylics.

Lesson 4 - Chalk & Pastel
Chalk and pastel are not only for sketching and simple drawing, you could produce some beautiful art with it. You will learn how to apply those techniques to your digital art.

Lesson 5 - Transparencies

In this lesson we are going to learn a few techniques for painting transparencies, water effect and marine. You will learn what to look for and how to approach your painting, so that you are able to apply these techniques to your own preferred style of painting.

Lesson 6 - Sky and Landscape

Clouds: In this lesson we will study the different type of clouds and where they are in the atmosphere, to help us to paint a more realistic painting. By learning to identify the types of clouds, we are not going to paint a sky with a Cirrus Fibractus ( High cloud with frost) on a nice hot sunny afternoon just because that type of cloud looks nice.:-) You will have examples and learn how to paint them with the correct color palette. Also, we will have a few landscapes with sky and water elements.

Lesson 7 - Wrap-up & Review


Prerequisites

This course is for the intermediate to advanced user of PhotoImpact. You must have completed the Creative Painting with PhotoImpact: Paint tools Proficiency course. Completion of Advanced Creative Painting is also recommended or be able to demonstrate complete familiarity of the Paint Tool locations as well as a working knowledge of the brush panel.
You must have PhotoImpact 7, 8, XL or 10 installed on your computer. It can be the trial version, but you will not be able to complete this course during the 30-day trial period.
