Course Description: Fine Art Principles for All Media


This course is designed to help you learn the painting language,the elements of art,the principle of art and how to apply them to your painting. The course will help you to better perform your art and learn more about the whys and how-to's.
Each lesson has exercises and tutorials, as well as examples and reference material. Beginners and the more experienced amateur will learn all the aspects and styles that will help them determine their style preference. The skills acquired will bring rich dividends. Lesson 2 - Perspective

Sometimes we ask ourselves, what is wrong with this painting and yet many times we cannot find the answer. Most of the time it is the perspective. If the perspective is wrong, your painting doesn't seem right. You will learn the different methods of perspective and will be able to apply the results to your sketching, drawing or painting.

Lesson 3 - Sketching

Sketching or drawing is the foundation of a painting. You will learn why it is essential to visualize the elements and establish them quickly and accurately and how to do it.

Lesson 6 - Style/Artist

In this lesson, we will study the different styles, and see how the artist was influenced by the period in which he lived and painted. By studying these different styles, you will be able to tell which style attracts you the most and why. This will help you to develop your own individual style of painting. Something that makes your artwork unique. So that someone will look at it and say; this painting is a yourname.

Prerequisites

This course is not software specific and the lessons can be applied to any type of painting, real life or digital, but you will need a graphic program to complete the lessons. An alternative would be a scanner or digital camera if you are working with canvas or paper.
