Course Description: Apophysis Exploration
In this course, the nooks and crannies of Apophysis will have light cast on them and new styles will be opened up for the student. Exploration of several styles of Apophysis fractals will be explored including: Grand Julian, Stained Glass and Spirals.
Note: You must participate in the classroom and post the weekly assignments if you plan to take the Apophysis advanced course.
Lessons
Lesson 1
- Overview of the needed resources and installation of program.
- Thorough explanation of the program's main window and its options.
- Effectively creating a random batch and using the adjustment and mutation windows.
- Saving, copying and pasting parameters.
- Setting up the rendering options and creating first renders*.
- *Rendering methods other than the Apophysis internal renderer will not be discussed in this course.
Lesson 2
- An in-depth lesson on the Editor window and all of its options including creating blank flames, scaling transforms, etc.
- You will begin creating your own new flames this week.
Lesson 3
- Basic scripting: Using the default scripts to aid in making a flame.
- Using the Final Transform.
- Creating a Sierpinski textured fractal.
- Coloring your fractals.
Lesson 4
- Creating a Tile fractal.
- Creating a Wire and Tube fractal.
- Creating a Julian.
Lesson 5
- Creating a Stained Glass fractal.
- Creating a Spiral.
Lesson 6
- Final exam encompassing everything learned.
