Course Description: Apophysis: Beyond the Basics ~Travis Williams~

Prerequisites: Apophysis 2.02, latest version of Apophysis (currently 2.07), ApoMap. Must have taken Apophysis Exploration or submit a small portfolio of best works demonstrating understanding of the basics as outlined in Apophysis Exploration (Images and Parameters, please) for consideration and approval before taking this course. If you have not taken the Apophysis Exploration course you must notify the instructor for authorization prior to registering.

Lessons

Lesson 1

Quick refresher of the basics as outlined by Apophysis Exploration.
Usage of Post transforms.

Lesson 2

Painting with Apophysis week 1- In depth discussion of basic variations, mainly, linear, spherical, bubble, cylinder, julian, as well as others.
In depth lesson on Coloring.
Advanced Tiling.

Lesson 3

Painting with Apophysis week 2- How to download and use plugins.
Advanced techniques using variations such as Lazy Susan, Escher, and Bipolar
Discussion of Shape and Detail Transform techniques

Lesson 4

Painting with Apophysis week 3- Discussion of chaos/abstract fractal art.
Creating a style or technique.
Work with Lazy Susan, Oscilloscope and Loonie.

Lesson 5

The importance of the adjustment window.
Making and saving gradients using ApoMap.

Lesson 6

Final exam encompassing everything learned.

Lesson 7

Course wrap up, review week.
